Former NBA player Cliff Robinson has sadly passed away at the age of 53. Robinson had a 19-year NBA career that spanned from 1989 through 2007. He played for the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors and New Jersey Nets, but he’s most remembered for his stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.
During his career, he earned the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year (1993), was named an All-Star in 1994 and was named All-Defensive Second Team in 2000 and 2002.

After retiring from the game, he struggled with his health. In 2017, he suffered a stroke and one year later, he a tumor removed from his jaw. The cause of his death remains unclear. The UConn Huskies -where he won an NIT title and had his ’00’ jersey retired- confirmed his death on Saturday.

Robinson averaged 14.2 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting from the field during his career.
