The 2023 NBA All-Star Game gets closer every week, and we’re seeing the development of the voting process, which didn’t suffer any major changes over the past two weeks.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant led their respective conferences during the first weeks of the voting process, with Kyrie Irving leading the East guards amid a tumultuous season for the Brooklyn Nets superstar.

Now, however, things have changed a little bit, with Kevin Durant being relegated to the second position in the East. It’s easy to think that his injury against the Miami Heat a couple of weeks ago played a role in this, but the reality is that he’s no longer the top vote-getter in the East.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Overtakes Kevin Durant In The 2023 All-Star Voting

The NBA released the third fan return of the 2023 All-Star voting, which shows Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the Eastern Conference, surpassing the injured Durant, who could return before this big game.

Giannis has collected 5,970,196 votes as of right now, edging KD and his 5,838,182 votes. Following them, we can find Jayson Tatum (4.5 million), Joel Embiid (4.3 million), and Jimmy Butler (954K).

On the other hand, the situation remains the same, with LeBron James leading the Western Conference frontcourt with 6.5 million votes, which is an advantage over Giannis and KD. As for guard, Stephen Curry leads the West with 5.1 million votes, while Kyrie Irving leads the East with 3.9 million votes.

The NBA announced that next week, fans will have the chance to know which players will be the starters for this big game. We have incredible names on these lists, but only a handful of them will be able to travel to Salt Lake City to play in the biggest event the NBA has to offer every season.

The race between Giannis and Durant got a lot more interesting, and it’ll be interesting to see who will go as a team captain against Team LeBron this season.
