Point guard Kyrie Irving is one of the best players at his position when on the court, and he is clearly a championship-level co-star. Around the league, he is highly regarded due to his handles and shot-creation ability in isolation.

Recently, we saw Iman Shumpert explain why Kyrie Irving is extremely dangerous in those 1-on-1 situations, noting that he’s one of the few players that is willing to attack “with no plan”, which makes him unpredictable.

“[Kyrie] is one of the only players that’ll play against you with no plan… He’d rather play defense on offense… He starts his point of attack and lets you dictate how this is gonna go.”

Kyrie Irving’s wizardry with the basketball allows him to be extremely unpredictable, and counter a defender’s every move. There’s a reason he is as efficient as he is, and there’s no questioning his talent.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Kyrie Irving put up 27.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.3 APG with the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets. He is clearly still an All-NBA talent, and hopefully, the Mavericks are able to retain him.

Kyrie Irving Could Get A Four-Year, $210 Million Contract From Dallas Mavericks

Kyrie Irving’s future is up in the air right now, as he will be a free agent this summer. However, a lot of people expect him to remain with the Dallas Mavericks. In fact, it was previously reported that the team could offer him a four-year, $210 million contract.

“Irving is eligible for a four-year maximum contract with Dallas valued at an estimated $210 million. There has been no suggestion to date that a five-year max worth $272 million is in play for Irving, who has played more than 60 games — or the equivalent in 72 games campaign in 2019-20 and 2020-21 — only twice in the past six seasons.”

There is no question that Kyrie Irving is deserving of this contract, as he is deadly next to Luka Doncic. The Dallas Mavericks could be a contender if he decides to stay, and he is definitely a good fit with the franchise. The contract is obviously a great incentive as well, and we’ll see what Kyrie Irving decides.
