When it comes right down to it, the NBA is all about basketball, but what goes into putting on a game is a lot more than that. Franchises have massive teams putting together an entertaining products for fans to consume.

All teams have a mascot, a character that represents the team. And for the Chicago Bulls, that’s Benny the Bull. While most people just know Benny for all the stunts and the antics, in 2004, the mascot’s extended routine led to some legal troubles.

Benny The Bull’s act had characters from his family added, including ‘Da Bull’ who was listed as his cousin. But Da Bull got in trouble with the law in 2004 when the man who played him, Chester Brewster, was arrested for selling marijuana from his car outside the United Center.

Following this occurrence, the current character of Benny The Bull was designed, and the ‘Da Bull’ character was retired. In 2013, Benny The Bull was named the most popular mascot in sports by Forbes.

Despite that brush with the law, the Bulls’ mascot image has since been cleaned up, and he is now known for his acrobatic dunks and wild stunts. He is one of the most loved characters in the basketball world, although he does not make as much money as the Denver Nuggets mascot, Rocky

The Funniest Moments Of Benny The Bull

It’s hard to say what truly sets a mascot apart, nowadays, almost all of them do incredible dunks, wild dance moves, and other entertaining skits during breaks in the game. But Benny the Bull is on his level, there are compilations of him doing some truly wild things.

From making wild shots from half-court to drowning fans in opposing teams’ jerseys in popcorn and Pepsi, Benny is truly the most unpredictable of entertainers. Benny The Bull has even done dance routines in which he dressed up as Micahel Jackson and seemingly squared off with Jay-Z on the sidelines.
