Isiah Thomas’ Hilarious Reaction To Meme Using His Dream Team Snub Speech: “You Got Me On This One. I Surrender.”

2 Min Read

Isiah Thomas’ snub from the 1992 Dream Team became a hot topic in the NBA last year, especially after the airing of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls’ award-winning docu-series “The Last Dance.” They touched the rivalry between Jordan and the “Bad Boys” Detroit Pistons before His Airness took the Bulls to their first-ever NBA championship at the end of the 80s and the start of the 90s.

Thomas believed that his rivalry with MJ was the reason he was snubbed from the team that went to the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. He made the case for himself, explaining that his behavior on the court and the rivalries he created with some players on the team. It was a very serious and somehow dramatic issue at the time, but NBA Twitter has twisted everything and created a meme out of Thomas’ words when explaining why he didn’t get the call for the team.

Stephen A. Smith Burner, one of the best comedy accounts in NBA Twitter, talked about the infamous stimulus checks in the United States right now. Some people are receiving $600 in their bank accounts while others don’t and SAS burner made the best meme using Thomas’ quotes.

“I don’t know what went into that process,” Thomas said in “The Last Dance.” “I met the criteria to be selected, but I wasn’t.”

That was hilarious and very relatable for a lot of people. Even Thomas reacted to it, admitting that it was hilarious and going with the flow.

“Hilarious you got me on this one I surrender ,” the 2x NBA champion wrote.

That wasn’t a good moment for Thomas but you know NBA Twitter can make anything fun in a good day. The perfect words for this time, no doubt about it.
