• Isiah Thomas gave Michael Jordan the cold shoulder during the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Celebration

• After dipping up Magic Johnson, IT seemed to completely ignore Jordan

• Magic and MJ also acknowledged each other

Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan may never like each other. The battles they had during their playing days were serious enough for both sides to still feel animosity toward the other, as evidenced in a clip from the NBA’s 75th Anniversary celebration in 2022.

Thomas and Jordan were standing near each other, with Magic Johnson being between the two. Thomas dapped Magic up and shared a laugh before ignoring MJ. Similarly, Jordan and Magic also spoke for a second, though Michael made no effort to speak to Thomas.

Jordan and Thomas had some bitter on-court battles in the regular season and the playoffs. In 43 regular season games, The Bulls guard won 19 games to Thomas’ 24. Playoff records also are in Isiah’s favor, winning 12 playoff games to MJ’s 10.

Jordan averaged 31.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game against Thomas for his career, while the Pistons’ guard put up a respectable 21.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game in those battles.

Michael Jordan And Isiah Thomas’ NBA Rivalry Seems To Never End

Michael Jordan will never forgive Isiah Thomas for what he and the Bad Boy Pistons did to Jordan during the 1988, 1989, and 1990 Playoffs. The battles between the Bulls and the Pistons were intense, as Detroit employed the ‘Jordan Rules‘ to limit Jordan’s impact on the series. The physical play that let MJ take a beating meant that Jordan would not forgive team leader Isiah Thomas for orchestrating the same.

Jordan reportedly blocked IT’s chance at playing for the iconic 1992 Dream Team. Thomas was a massive snub on the roster and many still attribute it to Jordan, even though he denies it.

Thomas has given ‘His Airness’ credit where it’s due for stuff he’s done on the court as well as off the court, but it seems he’ll never make up with him as he did with Magic.
