The Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors played out what was arguably the most feisty series of the entire playoffs. Both teams went at each other hard on and off the court, with Dillon Brooks earning a suspension for a foul on Gary Payton II that had Steve Kerr accusing the Grizzlies man of ‘breaking the code’

Ja Morant was injured during the series too, eventually not being able to play the crucial game that saw the Grizzlies get eliminated. However, the Grizz maintained their belief that they could have beaten the Warriors with all their players healthy, and there has since been a rivalry brewing between the two organizations.

Ja Morant and Draymond Green are both prominent figures on these teams and both like to talk on social media, so it’s no surprise to see them playfully beefing. The two went back and forth on Twitter, it started with Morant responding to a tweet about a potential Christmas Game between the two suggesting that it needed to happen in Memphis.

Bryson: “A Grizzlies-Warriors Christmas game in San Francisco is all but guaranteed at this point.”

Ja Morant: “Nah in da M. Bring em to da trenches.”

Draymond saw the tweet and was quick to respond, reminding Ja that the champions play in their home arena at Christmas, with Ja still seemingly rising to the challenge.

Draymond Green: “The champs play at home Young! Christmas Day… LJ.”

Ja Morant: “I’m coming to you then. Tell em book data sh*t. I’m on yo block.”

The dynasty Warriors and the up-and-coming Grizzlies having a rivalry can only be good for the league and a Christmas game between the two franchises promises to be fun. The Grizzlies, with their added experience, will be looking to take the Warriors down next season while the champs will want to get to the top of the mountain once again themselves.
