Grizzlies star Ja Morant has a game that is undeniable. Between his amazing athleticism and advanced shot-making ability, he’s able to score on anyone, and it makes him extremely exciting to watch. Sadly, Morant’s actions are nothing short of detrimental when it comes to his behavior behind closed doors.

A few months ago, everything came to a head when several violent incidents were exposed that Morant was involved with in some way. Even now, Morant and his camp are still feeling the fallout from their string of scandals. According to a report by CBS Sports, one of Ja’s closest friends, Davonte Pack, is officially wanted by police for his involvement in the assault of a teenager.

“An arrest warrant has been issued in Shelby County, Tennessee for Davonte Pack, a close friend of Ja Morant, over a fight involving a teenager at the Memphis Grizzlies star’s home in 2022. Joshua Holloway, now 18, accused Pack and Morant of beating him up during a pick-up basketball game.”

The incident apparently occurred in Morant’s home, although it’s unknown what kind of role he played during the incident in question.

“The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Davonte Pack, who has been charged with simple assault in relation to the July 2022 altercation involving Mr. Pack, Memphis Grizzlies basketball player Ja Morant, and a juvenile basketball player at Mr. Morant’s residence in Eads,” the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. “The SCSO consulted with the SCDAG before obtaining the warrant.”

What’s Next For Ja?

At the moment, it seems the public still isn’t fully aware of all the activities Ja has been up to over the years, but it seems only a matter of time before the ultimate truth comes to light.

And if this scandal becomes worse for Morant, it could further damage his reputation and legacy, which already may never recover from this whole ordeal.

For Ja, the best move going forward is to take accountability for his actions and never let himself get caught in such situations again. With so much on the line for him, he really can’t afford to make mistakes that will jeopardize his career.

The first, and arguably most important step for redemption will be wiping the slate clean and keeping friends that don’t get into trouble.
