It’s official: the Boston Celtics are back in the Eastern Conference Finals. As a team with so much history and culture, it’s no surprise that they are back at the top of the basketball food chain.
What is surprising, however, is who has been leading them in their charge through these NBA playoffs: 22-year-old Jayson Tatum and his partner-in-crime, 23-year-old Jaylen Brown. In their relatively short time in the league, these two youngsters have developed a bond and chemistry akin to something we’d see from two veterans.
It’s something special and, in the post-game press conference, Brown took a minute to talk about it.
“I told JT it’s an honor to play with him and grow. We learn so much from each other and we have grown so much.”

Obviously, Jaylen has a love for all of his teammates, and Tatum wasn’t the only guy he was talking up in that response.
Still, from how they play and talk about each other, it’s clear Jaylen and Tatum have a great thing going on. No matter what happens next round, or the one after, why would the Celtics risk breaking it up?
If nothing else, the team has proven they have enough talent to compete and you can expect this Celtics team to be a problem for years to come.
How far they can get this year, however, is still up in the air. With so little experience, and the talent level only getting better, the odds are stacked against Boston to take home the title this season. But who knows, it wouldn’t be the strangest thing that has happened this year.
