Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat have clinched a spot in the 2023 NBA Finals after a hard-fought battle against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. They will now face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets for a chance at winning the NBA Championship.

Speaking of the two teams, fans vividly remember the heated altercation between Jokic and Markieff Morris that took place last season. An NBA fan on Twitter recently reminded others about how Butler and the Heat were waiting for Jokic in the hall.

“Jimmy didn’t catch Jokic in the locker room, but he’ll be meeting him in the Finals.”

The fan believes Jimmy Butler and co. may have failed to catch Nikola Jokic in the locker room, but they’ll meet for an amazing series in the NBA Finals.

Apart from the basketball aspect of the series, fans will also be waiting to see if there will be another altercation between the two sides, given their history.

Are The Denver Nuggets The Best Team In The NBA Right Now?

While the Miami Heat have barely managed to reach the NBA Finals, the Denver Nuggets cruised past the Western Conference with ease. Moreover, since they swept the Los Angeles Lakers in the Conference Finals, the Nuggets are well-rested before playing against the Heat.

Of course, the Nikola Jokic-led team is the heavy favorite to win the NBA Finals since they finished with a conference-best 53-29 record in the regular season. Taking the playoffs into consideration, NBA analyst Bill Simmons recently hailed the Nuggets as the best team in the league since the 2018 Golden State Warriors.

“This is the best team I’ve seen in five years. It’s mostly because of how great Jokic is but also how they play off each other and how they always just get a good shot no matter what the scenario is… They definitely beat any of the 2018 teams, they would’ve beaten any of the bubble teams… I am saying the injured Warriors, nobody was beating those Durant-Curry Warriors.”

If Simmons’ prediction turns out to be true, the Heat will have their hands full in the 2023 NBA Finals. But if there’s one thing that fans have learned this season, it’s to never count out Jimmy Butler and his team.
