Scottie Pippen was part of the Chicago Bulls dynasty, and there is no doubt that he is one of the most versatile forwards to ever play the game. He was capable of defending at a high level, frequently guarding the best opposing player. Pippen also had a versatile offensive skillset and was able to slash to the rim, make plays for others and handle the ball.

John Salley has recently claimed that Scottie Pippen was the most skilled player he ever played with, rather than Michael Jordan. He made sure to clarify that this didn’t mean that Scottie Pippen was better, noting that he was the type of player Michael Jordan “needed”. (1:13:43)

Pippen, I used to say was the most skilled player I’ve ever played with. Because his arms come to here, he could dribble it, shoot it. He had unbelievable basketball IQ.

Everybody thought I was saying he was better than Michael Jordan. No. It’s what Michael needed. Michael needs a lot, because its one basketball. And there was 5 guys in the way.

There is no doubt that Scottie Pippen was a versatile player that was a good complement to Michael Jordan. Having Scottie Pippen there freed up Michael Jordan to be the best version of himself, and the rest is history.

Michael Jordan Knows Scottie Pippen Helped Him Win At A High Level

No great player wins by themselves, not even Michael Jordan. Once, Jordan claimed that he considers Scottie Pippen his “best teammate of all time”, adding that whenever they speak about him, they should “speak Scottie Pippen”.

“He helped me so much in the way I approached the game, in the way I played the game. Whenever they speak Michael Jordan, they should speak Scottie Pippen,” Jordan stated. “I didn’t win without Pippen. And that’s why I consider him my best teammate of all time.”

Though the duo’s relationship may be fractured due to some controversial comments from Scottie Pippen, there’s no doubt that Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were an elite combo on the court. Their six championships speak for themselves.

Hopefully, we do see Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan reconcile in the future. Both are Chicago Bulls legends, and it is unfortunate that they fell out. With that being said, that seems unlikely to happen as of right now.
