Before the 2022-23 NBA season starts, the Los Angeles Lakers have been trying their best to improve their roster after their abysmal last season. In order to do that, the Purple and Gold have seemingly recruited a lot of guards to the roster.

So much so that there are still many who aren’t sure which player the Lakers will start as their point guard.

They have the former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook, who will be gearing up for the second season with the Lakers. Apart from Russ, the Lakers have also welcomed Patrick Beverley and Dennis Schroder to the roster.

The biggest concern among these signings has been how well Westbrook and Beverly will get together with each other. The two players have a huge history featuring a lot of altercations over the years.

Kendrick Perkins Is Glad That Pat Bev and Westbrook Have Found A Way To Become Friends

Russell Westbrook recently revealed that he doesn’t hold any grudges against Patrick Beverley. This is nothing but good news for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Former NBA player and now analyst Kendrick Perkins also praised the two players for figuring things out and extending an arm towards friendship.

In a recent video, Perk shared that he and Kevin Garnett also had a similar relationship before becoming teammates.

“When you have seasoned veterans that understand the assignment and understand the mission, they put their differences aside. Me and Kevin Garnett went through the same thing when he was in Minnesota. We couldn’t stand each other. We was almost going blows in the back of the locker rooms, it happens. They’re being mature, seasoned vets trying to figure things out, letting each other know that they have one another back.”

The end goal for both players is ultimately to help win NBA Championships for the Lakers. If they can’t put aside their rivalry before becoming teammates, then it could have a negative impact on the rest of the players.

Perkins and Garnett, despite having their differences, must have solved their issues. Otherwise, it would have been very difficult for them to play together on the 2008 Boston Celtics, which ended up winning the NBA title.
