Brandon Ingram is one of the most underrated hoopers in the NBA. But those who know how good he is, show it by making a comparison almost no one else has earned. Brandon Ingram’s game often gets compared to Kevin Durant’s, which is as high a compliment as any player in the NBA can receive.

On the face of it, the comparison is a really easy one to understand. Brandon Ingram has a height like Kevin Durant, and he’s an excellent shooter. Like KD, he can score at all three levels and excels with the midrange. But there was another legendary scorer that Ingram was emulating when he was drafted into the NBA, and that’s Kobe Bryant. Ingram was drafted by the Lakers and, as such, got to be around Kobe, even though the Mamba was retired by then. And Kyle Kuzma thinks that’s who Ingram is more like.

“People try to compare [Ingram] to KD and stuff… it’s cuz his body and build, but they’re like two different players. He’s like a long a** Kobe in a sense. How he plays, the footwork, getting to my spot, brazin’. He’s a problem.”

Kobe Bryant is another comparison that any player would be proud of, and Ingram certainly wouldn’t be one to disagree. His footwork is elite for his length, there is no disputing this, but there is one man who wasn’t quite thrilled with Kuzma’s comments on this front.

Kevin Durant Questioned Kyle Kuzma Asking If He Isn’t Great At Getting To His Spots

Kevin Durant can pull up from just about anywhere against any defender in the league. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have spots on the floor that he doesn’t favor. And Durant pointed out as much in a comment, seemingly having an issue with the point Kuzma was using to differentiate between him and Kobe.

easymoneysniper: “I don’t be gettin to my spots with footwork?”

It’s not what Kyle Kuzma meant to say, but nothing slips Kevin Durant’s notice on social media. Even his response is probably tongue-in-cheek, even though it’s true that Kevin Durant does have excellent footwork himself. This is just another example of why it is a bad idea to say something about Kevin Durant on social media without being entirely aware of what you’re saying.
