The Kevin Durant saga was definitely the biggest story of the 2022 NBA offseason. The 2x NBA champion suddenly asked out of the Brooklyn Nets, with rumors suggesting he wasn’t pleased with the direction of the team and some even claimed he wanted head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks both fired.
After the Nets couldn’t find the right trade partner for KD, the player decided to withdraw his trade request and give it another shot with the Nets this upcoming campaign. The media day is over and training camp is already underway. The Nets have a lot of eyes on them after the drama from last season and this year.
Durant has been inquired about the last couple of months, but the player, who turned 34 this week, is tired of all that noise. KD is in Brooklyn and wants to move on, but the media won’t let it go.
Kevin Durant Wants To Put His Trade Request From Brooklyn To Rest
ESPN’s Nick Friedell, who claimed that Kyrie Irving and Durant aren’t as close as people think, recently shared Durant’s words about the reports surrounding his trade request. KD is seemingly done with that conversation and sent a big message to the people who won’t let this topic die.
KD on any inaccuracies about what happened in the summer: "Can we move on past that at some point? I know it's an interesting story. I know that it took up most of the offseason and drama sells, I get that, but I didn't miss any games, I didn't miss any practices, I'm still here"

"There's a lot of sh** that was inaccurate but it's like I don't want to go through it right now. We don't got that much time right now."

Just like the rest of the Nets franchise, Durant just wants to move on and put this one to rest. Of course, this isn’t as easy when you’re one of the best players of this generation and somebody as polarizing as Durant. Brooklyn has a big opportunity to win it all this season, but they will have to go through a lot to play in the Finals and win the title.
As for now, Durant wants to stop the talks about his trade request and focus on basketball and nothing else.
