Kyrie Irving Calls Out Grizzlies Coach For Calling His Team Immature In The Playoffs

Kyrie Irving had some words for Taylor Jenkins.

Point guard Kyrie Irving is well-known for his on-court ability, and he often dazzles fans with his ballhandling and shot-creation ability. However, outside of the basketball court, he is also regarded as a player that is willing to speak his mind on important issues happening in the league.

Recently, we saw Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins call out his team for their immaturity in the series against the Los Angeles Lakers. Kyrie Irving responded to a Twitter post reporting on the situation, noting that it is immature of Jenkins to do this in the playoffs.

“Speaking about your team like this during a series is Immature, but what do I know. I am at home relaxing with my family.”

The Memphis Grizzlies are a young team that is inexperienced, and it is easy to see why Taylor Jenkins is frustrated with them. However, Kyrie Irving’s standpoint is also understandable, as this seems like something one says behind closed doors rather than out in the open to the media. It will be interesting to see if Taylor Jenkins responds to Kyrie Irving’s comments.

An Anonymous NBA Player Called The Grizzlies Frontrunners

Though clearly, Taylor Jenkins calling the Memphis Grizzlies out for their immaturity didn’t sit well with Kyrie Irving, other people have also had issues with the team. In fact, previously, we saw an anonymous player claim that the Grizzlies are “front-runners” and “extra”.

“They’re front-runners,” an anonymous player said. “They’re just extra. They talk when they’re winning. They don’t say s**t when they’re losing. Their whole thing over there is just annoying.”

The Memphis Grizzlies definitely have a reputation as a trash-talking team. We all know about Ja Morant’s infamous comments about being fine in the Western Conference. Most people would agree that when one talks trash, one has to back it up on the court as well, and the Memphis Grizzlies simply haven’t been able to do that thus far. They are currently down 3-1 to the Los Angeles Lakers, and it definitely doesn’t look as though they can win this series. Hopefully, they can learn from this experience, and we’ll see what happens in the future. They definitely have a high ceiling as a squad, and hopefully we see them reach that ceiling one day.
