Kyrie Irving Responds About His Leadership: ‘If It’s Harsh As A Leader Or It’s Too Much For Anybody, You’re Not In Our Locker Room—Stay The F**k Out.”

Kyrie Irving just returned from an injury and is already making headlines, but not for good reasons. The point guard is expected to lead the Brooklyn Nets to compete in the East while Kevin Durant remains sidelined.

But, he hasn’t acted the way Brooklyn wants him to and is starting to create troubles.

He stirred the pot when he stated the Nets can be a championship-caliber team if they add two pieces and get Kevin Durant back. Obviously, this didn’t go well at the Barclays Center and a lot of people started to question his leadership.

“Collectively, I feel like we have great pieces,” Irving said, via ESPN, “but it’s pretty glaring we need one more piece or two more pieces that will complement myself, KD [Kevin Durant], DJ [DeAndre Jordan], GT [Garrett Temple], Spence [Dinwiddie], Caris [LeVert], and we’ll see how that evolves,” Irving said.

However, after seeing all the criticism he received for his words, Kyrie has responded, stating that he doesn’t try to sound like an ‘asshole’ when he talks to his teammates.

Kyrie knows what it takes to win:

"I'm going to continue to demand greatness out of myself and demand greatness out of my teammates. … If it's too much for anybody, you're not in our locker room—stay the f–k out.”

“It’s not like I’m an asshole yelling at everybody in the freaking locker room all the time… If it’s harsh as a leader or it’s too much for anybody, you’re not in our locker room—stay the f–k out,” he said

Kyrie comes from a bad tenure with the Boston Celtics, where his leadership was heavily criticized. In the end, he left the TD Garden with more grief than glory, ending one of the most tumultuous stories in the NBA in the last couple of years.

Although he’s shown a desire to do things the proper way this time, it looks like Kyrie is making the same mistakes he made in Boston, and that won’t end well for him.
