When the Brooklyn Nets started the 2022-23 NBA season, they were playing like one of the worst teams in the league. But over the weeks, the Nets have stabilized themselves and have turned the season around. Following the firing of head coach Steve Nash, the Nets have been in sensational form.

Obviously, the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving has been doing a lot of things right to lead the Nets to a current record of 17-12 following the win against the Washington Wizards.

This was the fourth straight win for the team, and it has helped them climb to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. So the Nets’ excellent form over the last nine games has now stretched to a 10-game span.

Kyrie Irving Shares His Expectations From The Brooklyn Nets

Kyrie Irving has had his fair share of trouble when donning the Brooklyn Nets‘ jersey. Despite all the drama that Irving has gone through, he has stepped up for the team this season with his performances on the court.

As of now, Kyrie is averaging 25.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 4.6 APG while shooting 47.9% from the field. Anyway, after the Nets’ most recent win against the Wizards, Kai shared a message to his teammates about what he wants from them amidst this excellent form.

“Man, let’s just go win ball games. That’s It. That’s really what the attitude is. Just win ball games. We know the talent we have. This is our group. No more excuses, no more distractions, no more throwing in surprise injuries. We just want everybody to be healthy.”

Irving has been reiterating this message about the mindset of the Nets at every chance he is getting this season. It’s good to see him assume the role of a leader for the team and lead them by example. If the Nets can continue playing at this level, they may regain their spot as one of the favorites to win the 2023 NBA Championship.
