Lakers Fans Want Pau Gasol To Join The Team Following Marc Gasol Signing

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Lakers got a huge signing on Sunday when they landed Marc Gasol on a two-year deal. The Spanish big man was one of the most sought-after players in free agency and the Lakers were the winners of his signing. Gasol is an NBA champion, 3x All-Star and DPOY award winner. Even though he’s aging, he can be a great addition to any team and the Lakers are well aware of that.

This was a great move by the purple and gold and their fans don’t want things to stop there. In recent hours, fans have flooded social media with petitions asking the team to sign Pau Gasol, Marc’s older brother and a Lakers icon. Lakers fans have loved Gasol after he helped Kobe Bryant win back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010. The Spanish big man left his mark on the team and now, it really shows.

Lakers fans took to Twitter to ask the Lakers to sign the 40-year-old, at least for one day so he could retire as a Lakers. Others said he could be a 12th-15th man and still play 15 good minutes for the purple and gold.

Pau was Kobe’s best teammate during the three straight NBA Finals appearances at the end of the 2000s and 2010s. This would be a nice gesture from the Lakers and seeing how they’re doing things in recent years, this wouldn’t be a surprise.
