LeBron James And Other NBA Stars React To LaMelo Ball’s Triple-Double Record

2 Min Read

Hornets rookie LaMelo Ball made history on Saturday for becoming the youngest NBA player to ever record a triple-double. In the 113-105 victory, Ball’s final stat line tallied 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists on 69.2% shooting.

LeBron James was among a crowd of NBA star to join on congratulating the young baller:

Obviously, the Ball family has become among the NBA’s biggest bloodlines since Lonzo joined the league in 2017. Between Zo’s confidence, and LaVar’s routine attempts to grab headlines, the spotlight has been on these guys for years now.

For LaMelo, though, there might really be something else at play. Coming out of college, he was hailed for his handles, court vision, and insane shooting ability. He was drafted 3rd overall by the Hornets.

So far, through his first nine games, Melo has done pretty well, putting up 11.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 40% shooting. In a recent interview, LaVar even compared him to Michael Jackson.

Needless to say, tonight served as just the latest display of what Ball is capable of, and the Hornets have a lot to look forward to in the years to come. As for just how good this kid will become, however, is still completely up in the air.
