LeBron James isn’t usually one for theatrics, but it seems even he couldn’t help but bask in the moment as he stood on the verge of passing a basketball legend.

As the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer, LeBron James now holds one of the sports world’s most elusive records and it’s not something to be taken lightly.

After the record-breaking bucket, James took a few seconds to speak to the fans and give his initial reaction to the historic milestone.

“To my beautiful wife, my daughter, my two boys, my friends, my boys, my family, my mother, to anybody that’s been a part of this run with me the last 20 years I just wanna say I thank you so much because I wouldn’t be me without y’all help, all y’all passion, all y’all sacrifice that’s helped me get to this point. To the NBA, to Adam Silver, to the late-great David Stern, I thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of something I always dreamed about. I never, ever, in a million years would have dreamt this better than I did tonight. So, f**k man, thank you guys.”

The Lakers, unfortunately, took the loss in the game, but LeBron was praised and accepted by the fans tonight anyway and they made sure to shower James in love.

What’s Next For LeBron And The Lakers?

Now that the All-Time scoring record is behind us, LeBron can get back to leading his Lakers to the playoffs. With this loss, they have fallen another step back in the standings but they are still within striking distance of the play-in line.

The good news is, the trade deadline is right around the corner and Rob Pelinka has been hard at work trying to make his team better. In fact, according to LeBron, this team still has enough to win a title right now if fully healthy.

“I believe so,” said James, “since we won the championship health has been on the wrong side of our franchise. I’m looking at the landscape of the league… some great teams, some great players… But I also feel confident in our ballclub and our personnel… if we can be healthy, get enough under games, get some momentum, we get some chemistry… but if we can be healthy down the later stretch of the season we’ll give ourselves a good chance.”

LeBron is still writing out his story and his time in the NBA is not close to over. Somehow, LeBron is still playing at an elite level and he said himself that he’s not going anywhere.

Now that he’s the NBA’s leading scorer, there isn’t much else to play for this season aside from making a miracle run to the playoffs again.
