LeBron James Hilariously Got Mistaken For Dwyane Wade By A Fan When He Was Undercover At A Pizza Shop

2 Min Read

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were teammates during the ‘Heatles’ era with the Miami Heat, winning back-to-back NBA championships together, Wade was arguably Bron’s best teammate. The two have remained excellent friends since, through Wade’s retirement and his eventual move into broadcasting and other businesses. However, the last thing many people would say is that the two of them look alike.

That’s exactly what happened during a skit that LeBron was doing to promote Blaze Pizza. In a video of The King going undercover at a Blaze Pizza location to deal with customers, someone recognized him. This isn’t quite surprising, LeBron James is one of the most popular people in the world. However, the fan didn’t recognize him as LeBron but instead said he looked a lot like an old teammate.

Fan 1: “You look very familiar, very familiar.”

LeBron James: “First day on the job. I’m learning. Yeah, I’m learning. I’m shadowing. Really tall shadow.”

Fan 2: “He looks like Dwyane.”

Everyone: “Dwyane Wade?”

LeBron James: “I get that a lot. I get that a lot. I’ve heard of that guy too.”

LeBron has a stake in Blaze Pizza, so it stands to reason that he was taking the time to do promotional bits to boost the brand. Being told he looked like Wade is quite hilarious, though, as the two really don’t look anything alike. To a non-basketball fan, though, it seems that there is not much of a difference between two superstars of that caliber.

James is someone that is recognized wherever he goes, fans are constantly trying to get his attention and interact with him. So while it’s hilarious to be mistaken for a teammate, it must have been pleasant for him to not be mobbed off the bat as well. And surely LeBron got some ammo for the next time he hung out with the Miami Heat legend as well.
