LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers facing Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors during the early 2010s was some must-watch basketball. It was fun to watch the two teams face off against one another in the NBA Finals, and many view the 2016 Finals as being one of the best series ever.
Even though LeBron James and Stephen Curry are viewed as rivals on the court due to them being the best players of their generation, off the court it seems as though they are on friendly terms. LeBron James recently posted a photo of himself, Draymond Green, and Stephen Curry on his Instagram story, with the caption “a dozen of them thangs”, signifying the 12 championship rings the trio has between them. The photo was snapped at Draymond Green’s wedding.

The Golden State Warriors notably won the championship in 2022, defeating the Boston Celtics in six games. Meanwhile, LeBron James is still playing at a high level, and he averaged 30.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.2 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 season. While LeBron James won’t be facing the Warriors in the Finals again due to him being in the Western Conference, perhaps we will see him face them in a playoff series next year.
There is no doubt that it seems unlikely for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to potentially beat the Golden State Warriors in a series as currently constructed. The team missed the play-in tournament this year, and the acquisition of point guard Russell Westbrook has clearly not worked out for them. However, with a trade or two, that could potentially change.
The Warriors, on the other hand, will be running it back with mostly the same roster as last season, and they will be confident in their chances of winning it all again next year. Point guard Stephen Curry is in his prime still, and it’s clear that the team’s championship window is wide open. Hopefully, we see both LeBron James and the Golden State Warriors do well next year, and both could definitely end up as dangerous teams.
