LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were a part of arguably the greatest NBA finals series in the history of the league. Bringing a title to Cleveland after coming back from 3-1 down against the winningest regular-season team in history is an incredible feat but the ensuing years have seen the relationship deteriorate just a little bit.
Irving left the Cavaliers to join the Boston Celtics after which he joined Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets, and has at times taken what have been construed to be subtle shots at LeBron. However, James has always been quite appreciative of Irving and his talents, shouting out his support for his former co-star from time to time.
Ahead of Brooklyn’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, a video of Kyrie dribbling the ball with just his fingers as a part of his pre-game routine went viral, with a lot of fans in awe of Kyrie’s incredible handles. Bron was among those too, sharing the video on his story with a caption giving Irving some high praise.
“Bro playing the piano with the rock! He’s insane!”
Irving’s incredible handles have long been a part of what makes him one of the most elite players in the modern game. His ability to dribble the ball is second to none and it’s what allows him to get past defenders using the tightest spaces and make space for shots.
Kyrie and Bron may not be the best of friends, but King James has a lot of respect for his former teammate. Both players have had a tumultuous season for different reasons and ultimately find themselves with a long road ahead to achieve success once again. If Kyrie can continue to ball out though, the Nets will still have an excellent chance of making some noise in the Eastern Conference.
