LeBron James Reveals What Has “Saved” The Lakers This Season

1 Min Read

With their second-best player, Anthony Davis, on the sidelines, the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled mightily this season. Just a few months out from their 2020 Championship victory, they stand third in the West with a 24-13 record.

For Bron, what has kept his team alive has been their efforts on the defensive end.

“The fact that we’re so damn good defensively has saved us so far this season cause we haven’t been great offensively,” LeBron said. “[We] haven’t shot the ball well, have had high turnover games … but we hang our hats on our defense and that’s always going to give us an opportunity to win.”

There is no doubt that the Purple and Gold miss the production Anthony Davis brings defensively. But with the combined efforts of guys like LeBron James, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Markieff Morris, they’ve been able to make up for it.

The hope is, they can continue to hold the fort until Davis’ return, which shouldn’t be too far off now.

If there’s anything we’ve learned about this team and their main star, it’s to always give them the benefit of the doubt.
