LeBron James and Stephen Curry are united once again at the 2024 Olympic games this summer. As they both represent Team USA, the stars are getting a closer look at each other’s meticulous routine and they are taking in every moment.

“Gleaning how each transcendental superstar goes about his work and learning more about who they are [or, to be more precise, who they’ve become since those finals battles] off the court,” wrote league insider Joe Vardon.

Talent gets you far in the NBA, but hard work and commitment to improve will lead to the most success and that’s something both James and Curry (4x champions) understand. For perhaps the first time in their careers, the superstars are getting a chance to see each other’s work ethic first-hand and it’s made them realize just how much they have in common.

The work required to maintain greatness on the court is often overlooked and it requires a serious level of discipline and dedication to maintain stardom for 10+ years. In the cases of LeBron and Steph, they are still the faces of basketball in their late 30s and now they are featured members of Team USA’s latest roster.

Together, they’ve not only added star power to the fold, they have brought experience and championship pedigree which they will use to help the USA win the gold. Of course, along the way, they are also learning to appreciate the moment and recognize the rare opportunity they currently face.

Over the past 10+ years, James and Curry have been enemies on the court and some might even say rivals. They both recently agreed that there was tension between them and that makes sense after facing off in the Finals for four years in a row. The legends are pioneers of the game itself and will go down in history as two of the most important figures in basketball.

To now be fighting on the same side, and get a glimpse into what makes each other so great, Steph and LeBron are making sure to appreciate every moment and bask in their status as teammates for as long as they can. So far, their impact on Team USA has been massive and they are setting the example for all of the younger players.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Team USA in this year’s  Olympic games, but they are looking pretty good so far with some encouraging victories and some great performances from several different players.

As for the team captains, they will keep doing their thing all summer long and it’s clear that they are calling the shots for the entire group on the court. But when the tournament finally ends, they will return to their teams in the fall and resume business as usual.

Even with a renewed appreciation for each other’s work ethic, LeBron James and Stephen Curry will be fighting to maintain their own success in the West, and if they happen to meet again in the playoffs, they will be most eager to take the other out.
