LiAngelo Ball On Playing In The NBA: “If I Play With My Brothers, Then They’re Really In Trouble”

2 Min Read

Of all the Ball brothers, LiAngelo Ball is the one who’s almost never made the headlines for the best reasons.

During their days at Chino Hills, everybody raved about how Lonzo Ball resembled Jason Kidd and how the sky would be the limit for LaMelo Ball. As for LiAngelo, he was often left out.

Things took the worst turn when he dropped out of UCLA following his incident in China. He was arrested for shoplifting and never played a single minute for the Bruins.

That, combined with the red flags that came with LaVar Ball and the fact that he wasn’t as good as his brother Lonzo, relegated ‘Gelo’ to nothing more than a brief stint in the G-League and a sign-and-waive with the Detroit Pistons.

Nonetheless, LiAngelo Ball recently told SLAM that he’s still working as hard as always to get into the league, adding that he’s physically and mentally ready for the challenge and that the rest of the NBA will be in trouble if he ever gets to play with any of his brothers.

LaMelo is coming off a Rookie of the Year season and looks like one of the biggest sensations in the world right now, whereas Lonzo is set to become a free agent and maybe take his talents out of New Orleans.

It seems unlikely that LiAngelo will get another shot in the NBA at this point in his life, but there’s no denying that it would be interesting – to say the least – to watch him hoop next to other members of the Ball household.
