Lou Williams Fires Back At Fan Who Says He Should Retire: “What Qualifies You To Make That Decision?”

1 Min Read

As a 3x Sixth Man of The Year winner, Lou Williams has always been seen as a core member of the L.A. Clippers.

But this season, amid career-lows in nearly every statistical category, confidence that Williams can return to being that high-impact player is starting to wane– and as his minutes decrease, calls for Lou to be traded get louder.

On Twitter, one fan even went so far as to say he should retire.

Williams fired back with something snarky of his own, clearly taking objection to a youngster trying to tell him how to live his life.

Obviously, we can’t just assume the age of the Twitter user. Regardless of how old he is, though, he may have deserved being called out. Calling for the retirement of a player, especially one as talented as Williams, 18 games into the season is just never a good idea.

As for Lou, the best way for the noise to quit is if he turns things around and starts playing well.

We’ll see if he’s able to bounce back at some point this season.
