Michael Jordan was the ultimate competitor on the court, and he did everything within his powers to be the best version of himself. With an almost unmatched obsession to succeed, Jordan ascended to a level beyond that of any player in the history of the league.
MJ would win 6 championships during his storied career to go with 6 Finals MVPs and 5 MVPs. He was at the peak of his powers in the 1990s, and if he hadn’t retired briefly after 1993 to go play baseball for a while, he might have had a couple more championship rings on his fingers.
Michael Jordan Once Hilariously Revealed His Ultimate Dream
For a man like MJ, you would think his ultimate dream would be to win as much as possible or be an incredibly successful businessman, but back in 1998, he gave a hilarious response to that question. Jordan was giving an interview on Primetime as the Bulls were chasing that 6th championship, where he stated that he wanted to have a pot belly.

“My ultimate dream as a person is to have a pot belly when I’m about 35 years old. For years I’ve been conscious about staying in shape and I always wanted to know how it feels like some of the guys who sit back and watch me play with a pot belly… I look forward to having that one day.”
Staying in peak physical condition for so long is very taxing, and you can understand why a part of MJ just wanted to let loose one day. He would get the chance to do that soon after this interview, as he would retire for the second time in 1998. MJ did not look in the best of shape by his standards when he came back once again in 2001, but he was still far from having a pot belly. That remains the case even today as he looks in pretty good shape for a man his age, so his ultimate dream from 1998 never quite became reality.
Jordan also once revealed what made him great was that he was coachable and that he was a sponge who soaked in all the knowledge he could gain. He also once spoke on how work ethic eliminates fear as if one puts forth the work, then there is nothing to fear as they then know what they are capable of.
