Minnesota Timberwolves President: “Karl-Anthony Towns Is As Untouchable As They Come.”

2 Min Read

The Minnesota Timberwolves are struggling once again to gain traction in the Western Conference. In the midst of another subpar season, trade rumors and whispers regarding their best players have been running rampant ahead of the deadline.

Karl-Anthony Towns, unsurprisingly, has not been immune to those rumors.

But according to Wolves President Gersson Rosas, Towns isn’t going anywhere.

“Karl-Anthony Towns is as untouchable as they come,” Rosas told ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “He’s the best player on our team and he’s the guy we’re building around. Everything we do is to help him become the best player and to help us become the best team we can be. He’s a special talent that we’re going to do anything possible to help him achieve his highest potential.”

There is no questioning Towns’ importance to Minnesota. At 24-years-old, the 2x All-Star is averaging 26 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

He is the de-facto face of the franchise and is signed to a multi-year deal that will keep him in town for at least three more seasons. It’s no surprise the team has ruled out even the remotest possibility of trading him.

As for everyone else (Wiggins included) it seems their futures are much less certain.
