Muggsy Bogues Says Lakers And Sixers Will Clash In The NBA Finals

Muggsy Bogues has already predicted his NBA Finals matchup. It’s still early in the season but the former NBA player has identified his two candidates to come out of the East and the West and fight for the Larry O’Brien trophy in a couple of months from now.

Bogues recently talked on VladTV, claiming he sees the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers as the biggest favorites to play in the Finals this season. The former Charlotte Hornets star shared his thoughts, tipping Lakers and Sixers to go at it in the biggest series of all.

“The Lakers are gonna get back to the Finals; I can’t see them not getting back. On the East, Philly is starting to scare me. The way Embiid is playing right now, the way Doc’s got them playing closer to the basket. And Simmons is pushing that thing down to the floor, and they’ve got some shooters around now in Danny Green and Seth Curry. You know, they’re starting to scare me. But of course, Milwaukee’s still there with Giannis. Boston is scary, too – if Kemba comes back the way he is. But I’m gonna say Philadelphia is coming out of the East.”

Joel Embiid is having a great season with Philly, even becoming one of the favorites to win the MVP. He could lead his team to the Finals this year but Bogues believe they will need more to beat LeBron James.

“If Philly and the Lakers get to the Finals, LeBron will have his repeat,” Bogues said on this potential matchup.

More teams like the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets in the West and Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics in the East, will try to prevent Lakers and Sixers to play in the Finals, but the season is still young and we have a lot left to see before crowning a new NBA champion.
