Until there’s something more exciting and unexpected than the Brooklyn Nets getting swept in the playoffs, the team and its stars are just going to have to deal with the proverbial punches being thrown at them online. The trolling has been merciless, and that’s not just the internet doing its thing either. Inside The NBA and their team, albeit after being goaded a little by Kevin Durant, have led the charge on this situation.

Following the ‘bus driver’ analogy from Barkley and Durant hitting back, the response from the show was an edit of a scene from The Office, hilariously having players’ faces superimposed on the characters in a way that pokes fun at the Nets’ exit from the playoffs.

And this has inspired fans to come up with movie situations that fit the Nets well, with one fan using the movie Juice from 1992 starring Tupac Shakur. A scene where the main characters in the movie are disagreeing has KD, Kyrie, and Simmons’ faces in it instead, and it all fits together in what is quite a hilarious manner.

Simmons being unavailable has been a big factor for the Nets, Harden’s departure left a void in terms of playmaking that the former Sixer was supposed to fill. However, his inability to play has left the Sixers without elite perimeter defense or playmaking, both of which would have come in handy against the Celtics. Their stars seem to be working towards a solution next season, but Irving and Durant have got to be feeling the frustration of the failures themselves.

In any case, memes like these will pop up even when there is a little thing to make fun of, so this isn’t something that the Nets won’t be expecting. However, at the rate at which he’s going on Twitter, the creator of his video could very well have Kevin Durant directly clapping back at them directly in the comments.
