NBA Fans Debate: Kawhi Leonard Is The Clear Favorite For MVP

2 Min Read

The MVP debate is always a heated and controversial topic. This season, considering all the many deserving players, it has been no different.

So when one Instagram account made the case for Kawhi Leonard, it sparked the beginning of a long debate online…

With averages of 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists on 50/40/90 shooting splits, Kawhi certainly deserves to be in the conversation, even if he falls behind some other notable names (like Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid).

Others weren’t as convinced, with many feeling certain that the award should go to Joel Embiid (at least at this moment in time).

Besides Kawhi, Joel Embiid probably has the best case for MVP right now. He’s leading the first-place Sixers with season averages of 28.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game on 54% shooting.

But Leonard does have some pretty impressive stats of his own, and (at the very least) he deserves to be considered among the MVP candidates this season.

We’ll see pretty soon where he falls by the time it’s all said and done.

But, more importantly, Kawhi and the Clippers will be aiming to bring home a title and make up for their shortcomings a year ago. No doubt, Kawhi would rather be successful there than anything else on the court…
