The NBA has been fortunate enough to see some truly great players grace their courts in the last 30-odd years. The likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Shaquille O’Neal have truly left their mark on the league in one way or the other over the years.

They are some of the most impactful and influential names in league history and NBA fans were recently given the difficult task of selecting which player among them at their peak, they would bench.

One fan believes you don’t need Bryant when Jordan is in the lineup.

A fan believes Durant is the one, as he’d be the best sixth man in the universe.

In today’s NBA, it would be Shaq as per one fan.

Curry not being a great defender and LeBron being capable of playing point guard pushes the former to the bench for one fan.

A fan picked Durant, as he is the only one who wasn’t been a leader on a championship team.

Jordan was really the name that didn’t come up a whole lot, which isn’t much of a surprise. Shaquille O’Neal also really has to be on the team despite a fan thinking he doesn’t fit the modern NBA as Durant isn’t really a big man. KD and Bryant were the two names that did come up often and one could argue for good reason.

Bryant is viewed by many as a lesser version of Jordan while the fact that Durant hasn’t won a title outside of Golden State to date, is always held against him.

Durant Has To Win Another Title To Quieten His Critics

Durant has an incredible resume, with two titles, two finals MVPs, an MVP, four scoring titles and we can go on and on. His career averages currently stand at 27.3 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 4.3 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 1.1 BPG which is quite impressive, but he’ll never get the respect he deserves until he wins another title.

Curry and the Warriors winning it last year was seen as a dent to Durant’s legacy as per some and the only way for him to get it right is to win a title of his own.

He’ll certainly have a shot next season with the Phoenix Suns, as Devin Booker and Bradley Beal would be by his side. There’s not a whole lot of depth on the team though, so Durant will be tasked with carrying a big load and if they fail to win, most of the blame will be put on his shoulders.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
