For the first time since his sophomore season in the NBA, LeBron James will not be participating in the playoffs. LeBron and the Lakers had a horrendous season last year, and finished the season in 11th place, missing out on the final play-in spot. The Lakers will have to do a lot of work in the offseason to make sure it doesn’t happen again. And it appears LeBron James has already begun preparations for the next season.
LeBron James shared a video on his Instagram Story of him driving to the Los Angeles Lakers practice facility at 5 AM. He followed that video up with a boomerang video of him zooming in on the Lakers’ logo on the court.
James takes very good care of his body and puts a lot of work in during the offseason to get himself in shape. But him, doing this six months before the new season is quite interesting.
one thing that keeps me optimistic about the Lakers is LeBron. plain and simple. pic.twitter.com/VncEgeAnhL

NBA fans were quite impressed with LeBron James reaching the practice facility this early in the morning and this early in the offseason. While many fans were not surprised that James is putting in this much work, they did note that he seems highly motivated to make sure that a repeat of last season does not happen.
Management did not want Westbrook, had to be talked into it and they regret changing their minds. 👎

If he smart he would’ve dipped lakers front office is a mess forget the players u can have limited talent on the team but the front office has to be rock solid

Nobody can fire the Lakers management team because they all cover for the boss, Jeannie Buss. 👍
Players can be traded though. Westbrook’s 47 million dollar salary used in a trade for 2 off the ball scoring weapons. pic.twitter.com/FpOac7Te7R

I’d be lying my ass off if I said it didn’t make me smile. Bron is hungry. Hope the rest of the team & Jeanie & Pelinka follow suit

Jordan would have been there at 4am. Just more proof that LeBron doesn’t have killer instinct pic.twitter.com/yfWkCpzc12

Lebron James averaged 30 points per game and attempted 8—-3-pointers per game. All that got Lebron was a #11 Seed. 👎
Gonna take Westbrook getting traded for Lebron to get back to team success instead of individual stat sheet success.

This current roster of youngbloods aren't much help to Lebron James if the goal is a NBA Championship. Nice personalities though. Westbrook's 47 million dollars salary via trade is the lifeline to multiple double scoring wing players.

There is no doubt that LeBron James is one of the most driven and dedicated athletes in all sports. If he wasn’t, he would not have enjoyed the success he has up to this career. LeBron is always striving to get better and win more championships. And that is why he has begun putting in the work for next season.
But if Phil Jackson gets his way, LeBron might not be on the Lakers next season, as one insider has reported that Jackson wants the Lakers to trade LeBron and keep Russell Westbrook. It is highly unlikely that will happen, as the Lakers will want to build around James, who, despite his age, is still one of the best players in the NBA.
