Damian Lillard is undoubtedly one of the best point guards and scorers of this generation. On any given night, Lillard has the potential to turn the game around for his team.

Moreover, in an era when most players want to switch teams to chase NBA Championships, Damian Lillard has stayed loyal to the Portland Trail Blazers throughout his career. But Lillard is yet to find any major success with the team, and even in the 2022-23 NBA season, it’s the same story.

Due to the Trail Blazers having yet another disappointing season, the franchise has decided to shut down Lillard for the remainder of the season.

Upon seeing this news, NBA fans had several different reactions to it. Most of those reactions involved fans claiming that Damian Lillard will demand a move away from the Trail Blazers this summer.

Comments have been edited for clarification:

“More like ‘Dame essentially doesn’t want to wear a Blazers jersey.'”

“Dame to the Lakers confirmed.”

“Him being loyal to this franchise is going to get him nowhere.”

“Just wasting his time, but he is getting that bread, so he is winning, in my opinion.”

“Dame deserves more than this.”

“Trade him, this man needs to get a ring.”

“Get that man some help. He’s one of the biggest ‘what ifs’ ever.”

“Get out of Portland (it’s just business) you tried your best; they didn’t try their best for you; it’s time.”

“Swallow your pride and leave, dawg.”

“Dame in a Bucks uniform will ruin the rest of the NBA for the next 4-5 years.”

As expected, most fans urged Lillard to leave the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard has been a part of the team for 11 years now and is nowhere closer to having a championship-contending roster around him.

Keeping that in mind, it may finally be time for Lillard to move on from Portland and start a new chapter in his career.

Damian Lillard Could Leave The Portland Trail Blazers This Summer

The Portland Trail Blazers may have one of the worst records in the league right now, but it’s not Lillard’s fault at all. Lillard has averaged 32.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG so far this season.

Despite these numbers from Lillard, the Trail Blazers are currently the 13th seed in the Western Conference. With that being said, NBA analyst Shams Charania recently revealed some concerning news about Lillard’s future with the Trail Blazers.

You have to wonder if he’s going to play another game for the Portland Trail Blazers,” he said. “I expect there to be real conversations this off-season.”

Charania has hinted towards the possibility of Lillard potentially leaving the Trail Blazers after this season.

Considering Lillard is one of the best offensive players in the league, any team would want to have him on the roster. But will Dame finally request a trade from the Trail Blazers? Or will he still stay loyal to the team? Only time will tell.
