NBA fans enjoy debating hypothetical scenarios, putting players and teams against each other, making hot takes. This has been common in recent years, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping soon.
One fan recently compared 2015/16 Stephen Curry to 2010/11 Derrick Rose, saying they’ll go with Steph. That 2015/16 season was magical for the Golden State Warriors superstar, becoming the first and only unanimous MVP in NBA history.
This was anything but a hot take for a lot of people who agreed with the fan. Some even called him out for pointing out the obvious. Not many folks will go with D-Rose over the Warriors sharpshooter.

Pooh was known for destroying everyone’s favorite point guards. Steph was no different. pic.twitter.com/qXnL7yTcke

I hate when people tweet like this to make it seem like a hot take, when it’s obviously not.

I take D Rose simply cause he had to face double team day in and day out. Steph this season saw the double teams and played different.

In 2010/11, Rose became the youngest MVP in NBA history, averaging 25.0 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 81 games, leading the Chicago Bulls to the top seed in the Eastern Conference, losing in the ECF against the Miami Heat.
As for Curry, he was on another level in 2016. The point guard posted 30.1 points, 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds in 79 games for the Warriors, leading them to the best record in NBA history, reaching the NBA Finals for the second straight season. Even though he lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games, that season is one of the best this league has seen.
So yes, it’s not crazy to see people picking that Curry over the best version of D-Rose. Steph changed the game, and although Rose was as dominant as they come, we never could see him in his prime, going toe-to-toe with Steph.
