Al Harrington Explains Why Michael Jordan Is Better Than LeBron James: “Michael Jordan Came Up In There Where Everybody Hated Each Other… LeBron Has Dominated An Era Of His Little Bros.”

The debate over the greatest player of all time has continued to rage on over the last few years. Many fans have continued to debate which player is the best to ever do it; Michael Jordan or LeBron James? Some fans argue for Michael Jordan, whereas some fans feel that LeBron James has eclipsed him as things stand.

But former NBA players, especially those who played against them both, usually lean towards Michael Jordan. And that is exactly what former Indiana Pacers big man Al Harrington believes. But he gave a more interesting answer as to why Jordan is a better player than LeBron James.

Al Harrington spoke recently on the ‘I Am Athlete’ podcast about Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Harrington believes that Michael Jordan was successful in an era where players had a lot of animosity with each other and had to work harder to earn their respect and defeat them, as they had extra motivation when they faced him.

As for LeBron James, he has found a lot of success in the ‘little brother’ era. He basically claimed that James has been playing in an era where players are more friendly with each other, and that allowed James to play with some great players, and no one really had a lot of motivation to humiliate each other.

“Michael Jordan came up in the era where everybody hated each other. They did not f— with each other, was no homeboys in the offseason, was no, ‘Let’s go to the clubs in the summer and go holler at some chicks.’ It was none of that. … When they played, it was war. LeBron has dominated an era of his little bros. They all his little bros, everybody. Who he had it with? Who? What star has LeBron had it with? What team has LeBron had it with?”

Harrington clearly has his preferences between the two players. And while he did maintain his respect for James, he thinks that Jordan had to overcome a lot more adversity than James has had to over the course of their respective careers.

LeBron is clearly affected by the debate. In fact, his former teammate Kendrick Perkins recently said that he is trying to surpass him in championships to put an end to the debate. James is nearing the end of his historic career, so he does not have a lot of time left to match Jordan or surpass him.
