Allen Iverson Posts An Amazing Photo Of Ja Morant’s Jersey On The MVP Trophy, Morant Responds: “Pass The Torch, OG.”

2 Min Read

Ja Morant is having a mind-blowing season for the Memphis Grizzlies and has put his name in the MVP conversation this season. The guard is a walking highlight, there’s nothing Morant is unable to do on the court. He proved it again in the game against the San Antonio Spurs, putting up an incredible 52 points on absolutely stellar shooting splits.

His highlights from the game were no less incredible, Morant had arguably the dunk of the season during the clash before also floating in an insane buzzer-beater to end the second half. He hit all of his three-pointers as well, making one from the range that is generally reserved for the likes of Steph Curry and Damian Lillard.

Morant has drawn praise from all quarters for his performances, everyone from fans of the NBA to media members and ex-players seems to be absolutely in awe of what Ja is doing in his third season in the NBA. And now, Allen Iverson is his latest fan from the looks of it, with him paying Morant the highest compliment on Twitter following his dominant performance.

Iverson shared a picture of a Morant jersey hanging off of his MVP trophy and captioned it implying that Ja would become an NBA MVP sooner or later. Morant was also quick to respond, sharing a photoshopped picture of him on the court with a young Iverson in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey.

“Pass the torch, OG.”

Morant is averaging 27.6 points per game to go along with 6.6 assists and considering that the Grizzlies are the 3rd seed in the Western Conference, is almost certain to pick up a few MVP votes this season. Whether he can overtake the frontrunners like Embiid, Jokic and Giannis remain to be seen, but it’s safe to say that Ja Morant has arrived on the scene and looks like he’s here to stay.
