Allen Iverson Says He Would Love To Play With Kevin Durant

Allen Iverson is one of the greatest, most beloved, and respected basketball players of all time. He means everything for the hoops culture, and getting a shoutout from him is one of the ultimate honors and signs of respect an NBA player can get.

Grown men, All-Stars, and even future Hall of Famers look up to Iverson up to this day. So when he attended Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson’s All The Smoke, you know everyone around the league was listening.

And, obviously, Barnes and Jackson asked him the question everybody wants to know: Which player from today’s NBA would you like to play with?

“Was LeBron (James) in my era? Kind of…alright no. I’d love to play with Giannis (Antetokounmpo). Aw nah, nah, nah. Yeah, I’d love to play with KD. I love Giannis now. I love Giannis. I love Giannis. I’m trippin’ cuz I ain’t seen KD in a minute. So yeah, I’m trippin’ hard. But no disrespect to Giannis. I love Giannis,” Iverson said.

Iverson didn’t remember Kevin Durant at first but then leaned towards the Brooklyn Nets’ All-Star as the player he’d like to play. That’s the ultimate compliment the 2-time NBA Champion could ever get.

Allen Iverson carried the Philadelphia 76ers to contention – and even the NBA Finals – throughout the course of his career. For most of his playing days, he never truly coexisted with a star when he was on his prime, and that may have cost him another shot at winning an NBA Championship.

A pairing of Iverson and Durant would be just a treat to the eyes of basketball fans. As a matter of fact, it may be quite similar to what we’re about to see when Kyrie Irving and he are back at full strength and playing for the Brooklyn Nets next season.
