Ben Simmons could finally make his return to the Brooklyn Nets lineup in a couple of weeks from now. The Australian player is yet to make his debut this 2021/22 NBA season and recent reports weren’t that hopeful about the Nets’ chances of seeing Simmons back this season.

Well, the situation could change very soon, as Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the Nets are trying to get Simmons ready for a return during the playoffs, and he could make his long-awaited return during the first round of the postseason.

It’s unclear what team they will face at the big party, but Brooklyn is confident they can create some problems for the competition with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving showing the way.

Sources: There’s optimism Nets star Ben Simmons could make debut during first round of the NBA playoffs as long as his progression continues in strengthening his legs and back. Simmons has been ramping up his workload and is expected to continue doing so.

Simmons and the Nets have been managing his back issue and have been on same page, and should he continue clearing ramp-up hurdles, he will be able to return — yes, in the playoffs.

Even though Kevin Durant claimed he doesn’t think that the rest of the conference is too worried about facing the Nets, this team is still dangerous, and if they can get Simmons back right on time, their game will reach the next level, especially on the defensive end of the ball.

This news is great for Brooklyn, who will play in the play-in tournament this week to define their rivals in the first round of the postseason. Once that moments arrive, we’ll have a clearer picture of how dangerous this team will actually be.
