Bizarre Stunt Gone Wrong: Fan Glues Herself To The Court During Clippers vs Timberwolves Play-In Game

NBA Playoff season is upon us, as the NBA kicked off the play-in games to determine the 7th seed in each Conference today. The Brooklyn Nets have already achieved qualification with their win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, while the LA Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves are facing each other right now.

The Timberwolves are hosting the game against the Clippers and saw a humorous fan moment take place. A woman stormed the court and superglued herself to the floor under the Clippers basket. She was wearing a t-shirt that read ‘Glen Taylor roasts animals alive’, prompting everyone to believe this was a vegan protestor.

Her protest failed, as security was quick to escort her away. There is no clear indication as to why Taylor was targeted in this protest. Fun fact: Animal blood and fats still make up the primary ingredients in many types of glue that are widely used, so using glue to send a message to promote veganism isn’t the home-run the protestor thought it would be.

The NBA is an extremely entertaining place, but a protest where someone glues themselves to the floor is a thing we haven’t seen before. It is unclear if the protest was linked to any larger animal rights group or whether it was just this one fan. Either way, arena security will make sure fans like this don’t end up in the stands for future games.

Fan interactions make up a large chunk of what makes basketball games entertaining, as the NBA’s viewing numbers reflected during the pandemic. However, fan interaction like this takes it a step too far.

Protests are necessary, but you can’t really hold up other people’s work to do the same. Protesting on the arena court for less than 5 minutes has left no impact on the cause for animal rights and instead has made this person the internet’s laughing stock for this evening.
