Breaking: Los Angeles Lakers Trade Marc Gasol To Memphis Grizzlies

Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol is finishing his one-year tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers after the team agreed to a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. Individually, the Spaniard player spent his best years in Memphis, but he won't be staying in the city for that long.

After a couple of months full of rumors and speculation, the big man is finally leaving the Lakers for the Grizzlies. However, the young team won't keep the veteran on the roster and will work on waiver.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Gasol is returning to Memphis only for a couple of days. Then, he would go to Spain to spend some time with his family.

The Lakers have agreed to trade Marc Gasol, a 2024 second-round pick and cash to the Grizzlies for the draft rights to Wang Zhelin, sources tell ESPN. Deal saves Lakers $10M. Gasol and Grizzlies will work together on waiver and release to allow him to remain in Spain w/ family.

With the additions of Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan this offseason, Gasol's time with the Lakers was coming to an end. Now things are confirmed and the player is set to return to his country.
