Anthony Davis is widely considered to be the best player on the Los Angeles Lakers as of right now, and there’s no doubt that the team has missed his two-way ability on the basketball court. Currently, Anthony Davis is averaging 27.4 PPG, 12.1 RPG, and 2.1 BPG.

Earlier in the season, Anthony Davis suffered a stress injury in his right foot. Though many were concerned about the injury, Darvin Ham has recently provided an update that suggested Anthony Davis is on the mend.

Darvin Ham, two weeks after Anthony Davis suffered the stress injury in his right foot, says “the biggest thing is, his pain has just about dissipated” and says Davis is trending in the right direction when it comes to approaching a ramp up to return to the court.

Darvin Ham, two weeks after Anthony Davis suffered the stress injury in his right foot, says “the biggest thing is, his pain has just about dissipated” and says Davis is trending in the right direction when it comes to approaching a ramp up to return to the court.

There is no question that this is good news for the Los Angeles Lakers and their fans. Anthony Davis is key for the team’s playoff hopes this season. Hopefully, he comes back sooner rather than later and helps the Los Angeles Lakers get into a position to be in the play-in tournament.

The Los Angeles Lakers Don’t Want To Make A Big Deal

Though making a big trade could potentially help the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs with Anthony Davis and LeBron James, it seems as though the team may not make a move. A previous report revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers have seriously considered “riding out the season” with their current roster.

Internally, sources said, there’s been serious consideration given to riding out the season without making a major deal if they can’t find one that would make the team a realistic contender.

Thanks to Davis’ and James’ injuries, roster depth depleted from a deal for Russell Westbrook and a revolving supporting cast since his title with L.A., the Lakers’ level of competitiveness since winning the 2020 NBA championship has been uneven at best.

This season, while fully healthy, they went to Milwaukee and played a near-perfect game to beat the Bucks.

The “major deal” that gets the Los Angeles Lakers over the hump likely involves the team trading for a star. In fact, a recent report revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers might be saving their first-round picks to make a trade for a star like Bradley Beal in the future.

If no stars end up being available, then the Los Angeles Lakers should definitely consider making a smaller deal. It remains to be seen if they do so, as they have shown a reluctance to move their picks thus far.
