The Los Angeles Lakers are getting ready to face a new season after their horrible 2021/22 NBA campaign. Just when people thought they were championship favorites again, things went horribly wrong for them. The addition of Russell Westbrook to the roster didn’t help them reach the next level, and injuries hurt their chances to compete for the title once again.
After firing Frank Vogel, the Purple and Gold started looking for a new head coach that can turn things around and take this team back to the top of the league. Milwaukee Bucks’ assistant coach Darvin Ham earned the job and he’s now ready to give this team a new identity.
This was perceived as great hiring by many people, but others don’t think the Lakers made the right decision. Well, Ham has heard those comments and he’s ready to prove doubters wrong. During a recent interview on Sirius XM NBA Radio, Ham talked about his expectations in Los Angeles and the fact that he’s coaching three future Hall of Famers.
“I get to coach three first-ballot Hall of Famers”

“I’m so ready for this challenge, man. I’m so ready to shut people up… I get to coach three first-ballot Hall of Famers and very talented young players.
“Work with a championship GM in Rob Pelinka and get to build a great, healthy roster with him, a versatile roster. Work with one of the most storied franchises in the world.”
It seems like he’s already bringing the right energy to the team. After many years as an assistant, he’s gotten a chance to prove what he can do as a head coach. Many people think he’s the right person for this job, including Giannis Antetokounmpo. Ham is confident in his abilities, and it looks like Lakers Nation is starting to embrace him.
Next season will be a tough one for the Lakers, but everybody in the organization is confident they’ll see something different from the team this time.
