The Boston Celtics have finally managed to get to the NBA Finals this year, after multiple years of tough losses in the playoffs. This will be their first Finals appearance since the 2010 season.

A lot of people had the Boston Celtics winning this year’s Eastern Conference Finals series, even though they looked fairly evenly matched up against the Miami Heat. Notably, Draymond Green predicted that the Golden State Warriors would be facing the Boston Celtics in the Finals:

“I think both teams are tough. I think Boston will cause us problems, especially offensively. Their defense is incredible… If you wanna ask me who we wanna play, I’m going to tell you who we’re gonna play. We’re gonna play Boston.”

Recently, Draymond Green was asked about how he knew the Warriors would end up facing the Boston Celtics in the Finals. Draymond Green responded by saying that he knows a championship-caliber team when he sees one, and stated that the Celtics “have the pieces” to win a championship:

I know a championship-caliber team when I see one. A championship team has a guy who can go get a bucket, no matter what. They have that. They have great defenders. They have a great coach – young coach, but is showing that he can make adjustments and that he’s ready for the moment. Like, they have the pieces.

There is no doubt that the Boston Celtics have assembled a championship-caliber team. They have a superstar in Jayson Tatum, as well as an elite wing star in Jaylen Brown, as well as a great supporting cast.

Beating the Golden State Warriors is no easy task though, as they have a core that has experienced winning before, and will be gunning to win their 4th championship. There is no doubt that they will be a tough challenge for the Celtics. This series will be a battle, and we’ll see who ends up coming out on top.
