Even when he’s playing badly, Draymond Green doesn’t stop himself from talking.

This week, after CJ McCollum picked the Celtics to win the series, Draymond issued a typical response, going after McCollum and poking fun at his postseason resume:

“Tha’s fine,” Draymond said. “Those Celtics will still be ringless, just like you. Respect.”

Trash talk is one of Draymond’s mastered arts, so it’s really no surprise he torched CJ so badly here. Unfortunately, McCollum looks to be on the right track with his prediction.

Boston holds the 2-1 advantage in the series so far, and, aside from Game 2, they have shown to be more than a match for the experienced and extremely talented Warriors.

Even Draymond Green himself has noted how powerful the Celtics are as a team:

“I think both teams are tough. I think Boston will cause us problems, especially offensively. Their defense is incredible… If you wanna ask me who we wanna play, I’m going to tell you who we’re gonna play. We’re gonna play Boston.”

He later explained why he picked Boston to come out of the East:

“I know a championship-caliber team when I see one. A championship team has a guy who can go get a bucket, no matter what. They have that. They have great defenders. They have a great coach – young coach but is showing that he can make adjustments and that he’s ready for the moment. Like, they have the pieces.”

Right now, it is still anyone’s series. The Celtics have shown they can, and the Warriors are far too good to be counted out with a 2-1 series deficit.

Game 4 will likely be the point that the series shifts in favor of one team or another, so things will no doubt get intense on Friday. As for McCollum, he will not be winning a title this summer, but he may still end up being right about this series if the Celtics take Game 4.
