Warriors star Draymond Green is an important player for his team. He sets the tone defensively, sets his teammates up on offense, and acts as a leader in the locker room.

Unfortunately, Draymond hasn’t been himself against the Celtics, and it’s no doubt why the Dubs are down in the series.

According to some, his podcast ‘The Draymond Green Show’ may have something to do with his performance so far. At the very least, it may have become a distraction for him:

“Look like Draymond was more prepped for his post-game podcast than the actual game,” tweeted Kendrick Perkins. “Just an observation, never mind me tho. Carry on…”

Of course, the Warriors swingman has denied placing any blame on the pod, and recently defended his show when a reporter asked him if the podcasts gave away their game plan:

“No. I don’t say much different on the podcast than I say to you right here, so nah. What’s the X’s and O’s that I said on the Podcast?”

When the reporter suggested that it had to do with how they defend Derrick White, Al Horford, and Marcus Smart, Green scoffed at the notion.

“That’s just contesting shots. If that’s X’s and O’s, you’re reaching for something. It’s all good, though, keep going. You’re reaching heavy”

Despite Draymond’s statement, the numbers are pretty staggering.

As one NBA analyst tweeted on Friday, Draymond Green has more stars on his podcast (4.8) than points per game against the Celtics this year (4.6 in five total games).

No matter what is impacting Green’s play, the Warriors need him to wake up if they want any chance of winning the series. After scoring 2 points in Game 3, the pressure is on his shoulders to bounce back and turn in a huge performance for Friday’s crucial battle.

If he puts in the same energy on the court as he does on his pod, there’s a good chance he’ll have a great game.
