Enes Kanter Takes Shot At Giannis Antetokounmpo After Altercation

On Thursday Night inside the Fiserv Forum, the Knicks faced off against the Bucks in a very intense matchup. In the 4th Quarter with the Bucks up 91-82, Giannis Antetokounmpo drove to the basket and took a hard contact play from Enes Kanter.

The two went face to face and eventually, Enes Kanter was tossed from the game because of the play.

Many thought it was unfair because of the fact that Giannis got up and went to ensure contact with Enes, including Kanter. After the game, Kanter says:

“He’s the golden boy... obviously he’s the golden child, and they gave me two technicals.”

“I shot the ball and I was trying to go get the rebound, offensive rebound,” Kanter said. “I think Thon Maker’s elbow just glanced against my eye and it started bleeding. And then on the other side I think Giannis was driving the basket and I stopped him. They didn’t even call a foul. And then we just got into it a little bit. And then my eye was bleeding and they said, ‘you need stitches.’ So I went in the back and the doctor just give me three stitches. Now you guys are telling me I got ejected.”

Giannis has been having a tremendous season and is the leading candidate for MVP. With Giannis becoming more popular to the fans, one has to wonder if Kanter was actually right about what he said. Giannis has clearly become an NBA favorite and this play may very well indicate that feeling.

But what do you think? Is Giannis becoming the NBA's next golden child? Or was Kanter out of line with his comments?
