Frank Vogel On Kyle Kuzma: “The Positivity He Brings To Our Team…”

Silver Screen and Roll

Between injuries and the impact of a COVID-19 schedule, the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled to keep pace with the competition this season.

So far, they stand 5th in the West with a 36-27 record and are facing many questions about their future.

Still, there is light at the end of the tunnel for the team, as head coach Frank Vogel recently pointed out in a chat with the media.

“Kuz has been great all year. The positivity that he brings to our team, doing whatever the team needs for us to get Ws, and staying aggressive and making the right reads. That’s the biggest thing with him,” Vogel said.

Needless to say, Kuzma has had his fair share of critics over the years. Hailed as the next Lakers star early in his career, Kuz hasn’t quite been able to meet expectations so far.

But he has found a way to remain productive for his squad, averaging 12.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on 43.6% shooting as an important bench piece.

Going forward, it’s hard to say what’s next for Kuz. As he continues to help the Lakers pursue titles, the jury is still out on just how high his ceiling is.

Though, at the very least, his team seems more than satisfied with what he’s giving them.
