Gilbert Arenas Used Dwyane Wade As An Example To Explain How Giannis Antetokounmpo Can Still Improve: “When You’re Going Into The Summer, You Have To Work On Flaws, Not Strengths.”

At this point, whenever Gilbert Arenas even mentions Giannis Antetokounmpo, some people worry about what’s coming next. The former All-Star questioned Giannis’ basketball IQ in comments that went viral all across the NBA world, leading to people calling him out left, right, and center. Everything Arenas said seemed dismissive of what Giannis can do on the basketball court, and Goran Dragic was one of the harshest to let him have it, but far from the only one.

However, Arenas has continued to elaborate on his takes even after the backlash. It seems like he genuinely has some constructive criticism he wishes to provide Giannis. And while it can be questioned if it means anything considering that Giannis is a lot more decorated than Agent Zero, there is never any harm in thinking about it.

Gilbert Arenas Used Dwyane Wade As An Example For How Giannis Antetokounmpo Can Still Improve

Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘No Chill With Gilbert Arenas’ podcast, Arenas drew comparisons to the career of Dwyane Wade. Dwyane Wade is certainly accomplished enough for Giannis to learn from, and this is an interesting take from the former Wizards man.

“When you’re going into the summer, you have to work on flaws, not strengths. The strength, you already got the strengths, start working on them flaws – clean them flaws up every summer.

“Dwyane Wade with the bank shot, the mid-range – remember he didn’t have a mid-range when he first came in, he didn’t have that bank, corner bank shot when he first came in, the pump fake, you gotta remember.”

Giannis has a lot more on his mind than this drama at the moment, he just suffered elimination from the EuroBasket tournament. There’s not been much time to work on his game in that sense for Giannis this summer, although the Greek Freak has made it a point to always improve and add things to his arsenal.

As soon as he gets over the disappointing loss to Germany, the focus will be firmly back on the next NBA season. Giannis will be itching to claim another MVP as well as another NBA championship, and he will likely do everything in his power to make it happen. Ultimately, whatever people like Arenas say, Giannis marches to the beat of his drum, and it has worked well for him so far.
